Wizkid And His Many Cars

Wizkid has acquired more than four cars in the last 2 years of his remarkable career.
Recently, Wizzy added a N14.6million Porsche Panamera S luxurious automobile to his fleet of cars.
This, he made public when he posted photos of the car on picture sharing website, Instagram with the caption, ‘My new baby’.
Our first knowledge of his car purchase was in 2011-a black Honda Accord i-VTEC which was later snatched by robbers in March of that same year. Soon afterwards in September, the youngster quickly took delivery of a N6million blue Volkswagen convertible.
In July of the following year, his exploits at the 2012 Headies Awards saw him taking home the award for the ‘Next Rated’ category which included a prize of an automobile; a 2012 model Hyundai Sonata.
It has become the belief of most entertainers that owning exotic cars actually ups their status in the eyes of their fans and possibly increasing their worth with brands that would likely hire their services or affiliate with them.
Like the title of his debut album ‘Superstar’, Wizkid has risen steadily to become one of Nigeria’s richest entertainers, grossing between N3million to N6million per show, depending on the details.
Earlier on in the year, the 23-year old singer acquired an expensive property in a choice area of Lekki, Lagos, reportedly worth over N140m. Let’s not forget, he’s enjoying a sweet endorsement deal with Pepsi and  its been confirmed he's also signed with telecoms company, MTN.

Anambra Communities Seek Juju’s Help To End Kidnapping

The 21 communities in Anambra West and Anambra East local government areas have agreed to consult a traditional oracle to combat kidnapping and other crimes in the area.
multilifa
Chinedu Obidigwe, the Chairman of Anambra East Transitional Committee, confirmed the move in Aguleri on Monday. Mr. Obidigwe said an oath would be administered to the people to stamp out the kidnapping and killings that had bedevilled the area in recent time.
He said the oracle, known for its powers in the area, would help to instil discipline because the people know its potency. “We decided to resort to traditional oracle because it acts fast, no going to police and seeking for bail or trying to bend the law.
If anyone defies the oracle’s orders, he pays instantly,” he said The Chairman of the traditional rulers of the communities, Roland Odegbo of Nteje, corroborated the development and said that the essence of the exercise was to reduce criminality to the barest minimum.
He advised the citizens to abide by the decision and avoid committing crimes, noting that such did not bring development to the area.
The communities have experienced kidnappings and killings in recent times by rival groups in the area.
Some of the communities in the two local governments are Ezi-Anam, Ifitie-Anam, Nzam and Oweelle in Anambra West; as well as Aguleri, Umuoba-Anam, Igbariam, Nando, Nsugbe, Umueri and Mkpunando-Otu Aguleri in Anambra East.

Drake Acquires New Bugatti

The “Started From The Bottom” rapper was spotted out in his native land with his new, ridiculously pricey exotic whip.
In case you are wondering, a Bugatti Veyron costs a cool $2.5 million. If you’re trying to just lease one, that’ll cost you about $24,000 a month. In fact, just maintaining your Bugatti would cost you about about $300,000 a year.
Drake’s new album, Nothing Was The Same, is in stores sometime this summer. Check out flicks of Drizzy and his Bugatti on the flip

Pique: Neymar's presence will help Messi

The Blaugrana defender believes the Brazil starlet will ease the responsibility felt by the Argentine maestro this coming season.
Barcelona defender Gerard Pique says new signing Neymar can help share some of the goalscoring burden felt by Lionel Messi.

The Argentina star scored 46 league goals, which was 10 more La Liga strikes than Cesc Fabregas, David Villa, Alexis Sanchez and Cristian Tello managed together. Pique believes Neymar can help shift some of the weight of expectation placed on Messi, as the Samba star will give defenses more problems to handle.

"The presence of Neymar will help Leo," Pique told Mundo Deportivo. "Messi often has a crowd of opponents around him, but with Neymar on the pitch too at least two of those opposition players will have to be aware of him.

"We then also have players like [Andres] Iniesta, Xavi, Cesc and Pedro as well."

The 26-year-old Spaniard also discussed rumors linking Barcelona with a number of the world's best center backs, saying that even though he admires some of the names linked with the league champions, he is purely focusing on his own game.

"Most of the players that are being linked have experience in the top flight. Thiago Silva, [Mats] Hummels, [Vincent] Kompany, they are all very good players and are at great clubs," Pique said. "Deciding who to sign is not my decision though. I have to devote my time and thoughts to training and playing."

Reflecting on the Blaugrana's campaign, Pique feels it was excellent, especially given coach Tito Vilanova's battle with illness.

"I think the team deserves a very good rating," Pique said. "We won the league, we matched the record for points and we have reached the semifinals of the Champions League and the Copa del Rey.

"All that despite Tito's disease and injuries to key players. It's frustrating how we lost the tie against Bayern [Munich], but in summary I think the season has been remarkable."

Messi gets medical clearance

The prolific attacker was doubtful for Friday's match, but he has been deemed fit to play as Argentina aims to secure World Cup qualification.
Messi has been cleared to play for Argentina against Colombia
Argentina has received some encouraging news on the injury front ahead of the 2014 World Cup qualifier against Colombia as Lionel Messi has been given the medical clearance necessary to feature in Friday's encounter.

The 25-year-old Messi has not featured in an official game since Barcelona's 2-1 league win over Atletico Madrid on May 12 due to a hamstring problem, and there were doubts as to whether he would be match fit in time to face Radamel Falcao's Colombia.

Barcelona has erased all doubt, though, announcing that the prolific attacker has been given the green light to take part in Friday's game.

"Leo Messi receives the medical all-clear," a brief statement on the Catalans' official Twitter account reads.

Nollywood Actor, Jide Kosoko's Daughter, Bidemi Disgraced In Ibadan

Nollywood actor, Prince Jide Kosoko's daughter, Bidemi Kosoko is presently a youth corp member at Ibadan, Oyo state, Nigeria.
However, many of her fellow corp members are currently complaining about her snobbish attitude and what some of them have termed as arrogance.

According to impeccable sources, whenever some of the other corp members who have seen her movies approach her just to say 'Hi', Bidemi has a way of looking down on them.
Recently, according to an eyewitness, a female Batch A corp member said to her, "sister, please it's like I have seen your face before", but to the lady's disappointment, Bidemi just looked at the woman from head to toe and walked away," the source said.

It was also gathered that because of her celebrity status, Bidemi also expects to get preferential treatments at her Community Development Service(CDS). According to what another source said, Bidemi, who was posted to Ibadan North Local Government recently came late for her clearance but was trying to jump the queue, but not giving a dime about her status or her father's, her Local Government Inspector(LGI) Mrs. Ologundudu, a no-nonsense woman told her point blank to go and join the queue.
Apparently, this action allegedly embarrassed her.

Usain Bolt beaten by Justin Gatlin in 100m in Rome

multilifa

US sprinter Justin Gatlin beat six-time Olympic champion Usain Bolt in the men's 100 metres race at the Rome Golden Gala, Diamond League, which took place today. Justin beat Usain by one-hundredth of a second, that's like 1% of a second. Justin actually had to dip his head over the line to win in 9.94 seconds. Usain came in 9.95.

Usain was making his first appearance in the Diamond League this season since his recent recovery from a hamstring injury. Usain explained what happened to him:
"I got the perfect start that I wanted, then about five steps in I stumbled a bit and that kind of threw my game off. My legs didn't feel like my legs coming into the straight. I guess I need to do more strength work. I think I just need time to get it back together but the fact I got a good start threw me off. At least I got under 10 seconds.

"It is always a good thing to lose. You can figure how to step it up. I knew I wasn't in great shape but I'm not worried. It takes time to get back into shape and I didn't expect much from this race."
Usain's next race will be in the men's 200m in next Thursday's Diamond League meeting in Oslo.

Soldiers Flood Anambra over MASSOB’s Sit-at-home Order

Soldiers Flood Anambra over MASSOB’s Sit-at-home Order

Soldiers Flood Anambra over MASSOB’s Sit-at-home OrderPalpable fear has allegedly gripped the people of Anambra State especially residents of Onitsha, sequel to the reported arrival of group of soldiers in droves for security build up against the alleged Sit-At-Home order being canvassed by the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB.
As early as 7.30 a.m., Thursday, lorry loads of soldiers were sited trouping into Onitsha from the River Niger Bridge head.
Reports said they may have come from Delta and other neighbouring States into Onitsha as it is believed to be the operational headquarters of MASSOB, while Okwe, Imo State is the theoretical headquarters.
MASSOB had through its Director and Deputy Director of Information, Uche Madu and Mazi Chris Mocha warned that it would deal ruthlessly with any body who refused to observe the Sit-At-Home order.
According to Mocha, “the Sit-At-Home order remains June 8, 2013 and any group or groups that said it has been postponed said so on their own.”
Meanwhile, the State Police command had in a press release warned MASSOB and other groups agitating for a Sovereign State of Biafra to steer clear of June 8, Sit-At-Home stating that it would invoke some sections of the law to ensure that lives and property of the people are protected.
In a press statement yesterday, the State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr. Emeka Chukwuemeka reminded MASSOB and other militant groups that they remain banned in the state.
He urged the citizenry to go about their normal business and forget about the ranting of those he described as miscreants.
It would be recalled that the Association of Igbo Youths Organization, AIYO, had on Tuesday stormed the Anambra State House of Assembly where it revealed that it would assist the security operatives in ensuring that the Sit-At-Home order would not be observed.

Kanye West To Break Up With Kim Kardashian

We just received a credible report that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West may be separating. According to our insider, the pair have been fighting recently - mostly about the amount and the degree of the publicity that Kim and he have been receiving.
And last week, at Kim's baby shower - things came to a head. A person close to Kanye says, "Kanye is really trying to give Kim everything she wants. He knows how much [her show] means to her, and he loves her so much that he's supporting her on it. But that's not who he is." The insider continued, "[Kanye] is not the type of [dude] who wants the cameras around everything he does, but that's who Kim is."
We're told that Kanye left Kim in Los Angeles shortly after the baby shower. And it's not clear if he plans on returning.
The pressure from the cameras isn't the only issue. Kanye's facing a great deal of public scrutiny over his upcoming album. The insider also said, "Kanye is now in Hawaii, I think he's working on music. But I also think it's over for him and Kim."

NGF Crisis: I Will Never Attend Northern Governors Meeting Again - Bauchi Governor Vows

NGF Crisis: I Will Never Attend Northern Governors Meeting Again - Bauchi Governor Vows

The Bauchi State Governor, Isa Yuguda, on Thursday in Abuja said the Northern States’ Governors Forum and its leadership should be blamed for the crisis rocking the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF).
Mr. Yuguda made this assertion during an interview with State House correspondents shortly after he held a meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan at the Presidential Villa.
“The blame for all the crises and all the unfortunate comments made about the governors today should be traced to the Northern States’ Governors Forum (NSGF) because we the members are the culprits.
“That is why I say, on his honour, let the Chairman of the NSGF come out and tell Nigerians the truth.
“It is either of the two that we the 19 northern states governors did not come out with Jonah Jang (the Plateau Governor) as the consensus candidate, or we decided and picked Jang as our consensus candidate.
“So, if that has been done all these things that we have seen wouldn’t have happened,” he said.
The governor however said he was going to take a different approach henceforth to ensure there would not be a recurrence of such.
“That is why I now say, as far as I am concerned, that if I will sit with my colleagues and we will take a decision and some people will then go and do a different thing, I will not be part of those kind of things.
“I, as a person, will not attend such a meeting again. But my Deputy Governor can attend on behalf of the people and government of Bauchi state. But, as a person, I will not. That has always been my position,’” he said.
Mr. Yuguda, speaking further on the NGF crisis, explained that it was the turn of the North to produce the chairman of the forum.
“It was based on this that the NSGF endorsed the Plateau Governor as a consensus candidate,’’ he said.
The Bauchi State Governor said it was unfortunate that the Niger Governor and NSGF Chairman could not come out openly to defend the position.
“If today we 19 governors can sit down in Abuja and decide that one of us who is supposed to be rightfully the Chairman of the NGF, because the slot is for the North, is elected, there is nothing wrong with that.
“We were 19 out of the 35 governors, who were present, and we had decided and we went with that decision. Normally when we take a decision, our chairman will speak to announce it.
“By affirmation, all of us decided on one person and that is Jonah Jang, the governor of Plateau.
“So, on our own honour, we went to the PDP Governors’ Forum and the chairman of the NSGF, who is the Talba of Minna and governor of Niger, presented Jang as our consensus candidate.
“And there was a standing ovation. We were congratulated and appreciated by our colleagues, that we (I and Gov. Ibrahim Shema of Katsina State) stepped down for Jang,” he said.
Mr. Yuguda said that there had never been a time the chairman of the NGF had emerged by any election but only by a consensus.
“In the first place, we have never had any election in the NGF. I was in Ilorin and I was the one who seconded the motion that made Gov. Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers the chairman of NGF.
“Only 13 of us were in Ilorin and if 19 governors presented a candidate in a 35-member association, I think the game is over and it has been a consensus.
“There must be integrity in governance, because we the governors should be people of integrity. We should be role models and we should not play evil politics as far as I am concerned, because most people associate politics to evil.
“If you don’t know how to tell lies, if you don’t know how to betray, if you don’t know how to have double face, you are not a good politician.
“But I am not carved out for that. I am a professional chartered banker. I was the Managing Director of two banks and I served this country as cabinet minister twice and governor twice.
“My word should be my bond, and if I sat down with 18 of my colleagues and we have agreed on something, I should not see the chairman of that forum reneging on the integrity of the NSGF and by extension the NGF,’’ he said.
The Bauchi State Governor also underscored the need to put in place a Code of Conduct which would be guiding the activities of the NGF.
“If there is no such code of conduct and ethics guiding the office of a governor, very soon nobody will want to be a governor. We should all go and sleep and think over that and we will all confirm that I am right. There is honour in leadership and God sanctions leadership.
“If God has sanctioned leadership in our books of faith, I can’t see evil associated with leadership,’’ he said.
Mr. Yuguda was among 14 northern governors who shunned Thursday’s meeting of the NSGF.

Galatasaray Wants Mikel

Turkish champions Galatasaray has opened talks with Chelsea for Nigeria midfielder Mikel Obi, MTNFootball.com reports. Galatasaray sporting director Bulent Tulun is currently in London talking with the top hierarchy of the London club on the acquisition of Mikel.
The deal is being brokered by Nigeria FIFA agent Babawo Mohammed and Hasan Egilmez and if it goes through, Mikel Obi will join up with his former Chelsea team mate and friend Didier Drogba.
A source in Turkey told MTNFootball.com that Galatasaray officials want the Nigerian to join their squad.
“As I speak to you, Galatasaray sporting director Tulun is in London to discuss on signing Mikel Obi from Chelsea this summer, we want to sort out with his club first before we will open discussions with the player,” the source told MTNFootball.com

The Brazil international, who usually operates at centre-back but was deployed in midfield at times by outgoing Blues boss Rafa Benitez, was previously a target for the La Liga side.
Luiz, who was one of the star performers as the Blues secured third place in the Premier League and Europa League glory, admits he admires Barca's style of play, but is in the dark over the latest speculation.
The former Benfica man is quoted as saying in the Daily Star: "My objective is to be happy and this is possible playing always in a team that controls the ball.
"Barcelona is the team that has developed the best football in the last few years.
"I know Barca were interested in my services in the past but now I do not have any news."

Neymar Has The Capabilities To Be Better Than Messi - Pele

NEW YORK -- Pele couldn't be happier about Neymar teaming up with Lionel Messi at Barcelona, but the Brazilian legend once again sparked the conversation of which striker is better.
Speaking to Goal, Pele attempted to clarify statements made last year when he said four-time reigning world player of the year Messi is not as good as Neymar, who, at 21, has yet to walk on the pitch for a major European club after spending his young career at Brazil's Santos.
"I never think that, although when people ask me about the comparisons and who is the best, I'll say, 'If you see Neymar, he doesn't have the same experience as Messi after 10 years at a club,'" Pele said. "(Neymar) has really gone up the last two years. He can use both feet good and get up in the air.
"The difference that I try to explain to the people is that both are really good. I love Messi, I love the player. But to make the comparison, I think Neymar has the capabilities to play better than Messi... or maybe not."
Neymar officially signed a five-year deal with Barcelona and was presented in front of thousands of fans at Camp Nou on Monday. The reigning Spanish league champion won an intense bidding war with rival Real Madrid to complete what will likely be the biggest transfer of the summer.
Pele, who is widely considered the greatest soccer player of all time, is not too happy that Neymar had to leave the club he once played for, but Pele understands the youngster needs experience overseas.
"I'm not happy, because Santos lost a good player," Pele joked. "But, seriously, I think it's good for him, because Neymar was no doubt the best player in Brazil and then he gets the experience to play also abroad. To play in Europe is a little different than to play in South America. Football in Europe is a little more tough, while South America is a little more laid back and technical."
During a transfer saga that lasted nearly two years, many speculated -- due to Santos' claims -- that Neymar would wait until after the 2014 World Cup in Brazil to join one of the world's biggest clubs. Instead, he will have one full season under his belt playing alongside the likes of Messi, Xavi and Andres Iniesta prior to the prestigious competition in his native country.
Neymar will have a chance to break out on the international stage with a Brazilian squad Pele believes has a chance to win the final. Brazil, which is currently 19th in the FIFA world rankings, replaced coach Mano Menezes with Luiz Felipe Scolari this past November.
"I think Brazil has an excellent opportunity to do well," Pele said. "To win [in the World Cup] is very hard in football, but the team has the players. The team had almost three years with Mano Menezes. Unfortunately, we didn't have a base. Now, one month with Felipe and [technical director Carlos Alberto] Parreira, they are excellent coaches."
However, Pele believes that Germany and Spain are still the favorites to win the World Cup ahead of his home country.
"If you had to select now, one year before the World Cup, I think Germany would be a good surprise, they have a good team and good players, and Spain no doubt. Then Brazil," Pele said.

Pope Francis Speaks Of Food Waste, Lack Of Attention To Needs Of The Poor

Pope Francis took the occasion of World Environment Day to slam the influence of money and profit in the "human ecology" making the connection between the issues of the environment and poverty.
photo Pope Francis took the occasion of World Environment Day to slam the influence of money and profit in the "human ecology" making the connection between the issues of the environment and poverty.
"When we talk about the environment, about creation, my thoughts turn to the first pages of the Bible, the Book of Genesis, which states that God placed man and woman on earth to cultivate and care for it," the Pope explained to the crowds of pilgrims and visitors to St. Peter’s Square. 'And the question comes to my mind: What does cultivating and caring for the earth mean? Are we truly cultivating and caring for creation? Or are we exploiting and neglecting it?'
The pope went on to talk of the relation between how humans treat the environment and how they treat one another:
The popes have spoken of human ecology, closely linked to environmental ecology. We are living in a time of crisis: we see this in the environment, but above all we see this in mankind ... Man is not in charge today, money is in charge, money rules. God our Father did not give the task of caring for the earth to money, but to us, to men and women: we have this task! Instead, men and women are sacrificed to the idols of profit and consumption: it is the 'culture of waste.'
Pope Francis went on to stress what has become a recurrent theme for him: the contrast between how culture views the well-being of the financial world with the well-being and needs of the poor and the homeless.
If you break a computer it is a tragedy, but poverty, the needs, the dramas of so many people end up becoming the norm. If on a winter’s night, here nearby in Via Ottaviano, for example, a person dies, that is not news. If in so many parts of the world there are children who have nothing to eat, that's not news, it seems normal. It cannot be this way! Yet these things become the norm: that some homeless people die of cold on the streets is not news. In contrast, a ten point drop on the stock markets of some cities, is a tragedy. A person dying is not news, but if the stock markets drop ten points it is a tragedy! Thus people are disposed of, as if they were trash.
The Pontiff also addressed food waste, which is the theme of the United Nation's World Environment Day 2013.
"We should all remember, however, that throwing food away is like stealing from the tables of the the poor, the hungry! I encourage everyone to reflect on the problem of thrown away and wasted food to identify ways and means that, by seriously addressing this issue, are a vehicle of solidarity and sharing with the needy."

A 10-year-old boy has been hospitalized in a serious condition to Kamwenge Health Centre, Southwest Uganda, after a Kibale National Park chimpanzee bit off his buttocks, the media reported on Wednesday.
The boy identified as Paddy Ankunda, was attacked by the chimpanzee on Saturday, June 1, as he was walking along the forest in Kibale National Park in the afternoon with a friend identified as Amos Tukundane, 13.
According to his friend, who escaped, the chimpanzee attacked him from behind as he was moving from his home in Kahungye Parish and when he tried to escape, it over powered him and grabbed him before eating off his buttocks.
Mary Katusiime, Ankunda’s mother, currently taking care of him in the hospital, said that she was shocked when she heard that her only son had been eaten by the chimpanzee.
“I was shocked when I was called by a neighbour who broke the bad news to me.
“At first, I thought that he had died, but when I reached the health centre where he had been admitted, I realised that he had lost all the buttocks,” Ms. Katusiime told newsmen.
She appealed to the government to take measures to guard people living near the protected areas from the animals.
“We have a very big challenge here as neighbours to the protected area because the animals attack us,” Ms. Katusiime said.
The Kibale National Park in Southwest Uganda is a protected evergreen rain forest, covering 766 square kms and located between 1,100 and 1,600 metres.

Ezekwesili to Jonathan: Stop presiding over contract award meetings

Ezekwesili to Jonathan: Stop presiding over contract award meetings

Former Minister of Education and first Director General of  Bureau of Public Procurement, BPP, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, yesterday, advised President Goodluck to stop presiding over meetings that involved award of contracts.

She also urged  members of the National Assembly to kick against the proposed amendment to the Public Procurement Act, 2007, to make the President chairman of the National Council on Procurement, NCP.
Ezekwesili, who advised President Goodluck Jonathan to steer clear of the proposed amendment as it  was against global best practices in procurement, gave the advice at a two-day interactive session organised by the House of Representatives Committee on Public Procurement on the procurement processes with stakeholders.
She said the world over, Presidents and ministers had no business awarding contracts to its citizens, stressing that there was a plan to amend the Public Procurement Act to make way for the President as chairman of the NCP.
Dr. Ezekwesili advised  President Jonathan not to allow himself to be misled.
Dr. Oby Ezekwesili
Dr. Oby Ezekwesili
She said:  “I learnt that there is a move for an amendment of the legislation, PP Act, in order to give the chairmanship of the council to the President. Why would anybody do that? He should not allow anybody to do that to him.
”The man who is carrying the elephant cannot be using his feet to look for a cricket. To make the President chairman of the National Council on Procurement is  totally not the most effective and most efficient thing to do in the arena of public policy. If you understand what I’m saying, understand it; if you don’t understand it, oho.”
She argued that it was not late for Nigeria to start moving in the direction of other prosperous nations, noting that  President Obama needed not to call cabinet meetings to discuss contracts.
Ezekwesili added:  “The prime minister of Singapore does not call cabinet meetings to discuss contracts.
”What business does a President or minister has sitting with a contractor in a meeting?  That is not what their contemporaries do in other nations.
“Whereas the leaders of other nations spend their times thinking about vision, strategy and policy, the others spend their time haggling over contracts. It is time for FEC to let go of spending its time on mundane things.”

Daughter Accuses Dad, 57, Of Having Sex With Her

Daughter Accuses Dad, 57, Of Having Sex With Her

Emotion ran high, Monday, at the Bar Beach Police Division, following revelation by a Primary 5 pupil of how  her 57-year-old  father had been having carnal knowledge of her  in the last three months.
The primary school pupil during interrogation said her mother brought her to her father after years of separation, adding that since the sacrilegious act began, her father had been giving her N200 as pocket money to school.
Unsure of who to confide in, she said she told her mother during one of her visits only for the father to  dismiss the claim, stating that he could not bring himself that low as to having carnal knowledge of his biological daughter.
But the bubble burst after she summoned courage to tell her head teacher, who invited the police.
According to the pupil, “ when I was reunited with my father, I was happy because I was living with an aunt in the village since my parents separated. He usually told me that I would take the place of my mother in his life since my mother had divorced him. I did not know what he meant until he started having carnal knowledge of me at night.
“At a point, I got tired and insulted him. Then, he started beating me and changed his loving nature. He would beat me and strip me naked and have his way whenever he wanted.
When I attempted to scream, he would  hit me harder and cover my mouth. He later apologized, telling me he would buy me a car. All I want at the moment is for my father to be punished for what he did to me.”
