JAMB releases results, seizes 12,110

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the results of the examination into tertiary institutions in the country for the 2013/2014 academic session.
The examination was written all over the centres by more than 2.7m candidates across the country on April 26.
JAMB sources say, out of the  2.7m candidates who wrote the examination, 12,110 were seized by the body on account of examination malpractices.
It would be recalled that shortly after the conduct of the entrance examination on Saturday, the Minister for Education, Prof Ruqayat Rufai, announced vacancy for only 550,000 prospective applicants in the tertiary institutions.
According to the Minister, the capacity of higher institutions in country cannot absorb all the candidates who sat for the 2013 entrance examination.
