“We’ll do our best there to give a good image for the African football,’’ Keshi said in an interview with the official website of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in Cairo, Egypt.
Keshi is in Cairo, attending a three-day symposium on the last two editions of the Africa Cup of Nations.
Nigeria qualified to represent Africa at the FIFA Confederations Cup by winning the 2013 edition of the Nations Cup in South Africa.
Keshi said it was a great chance for the country to play in such an important competition.
The FIFA Confederations Cup, currently held every four years, features winners of the six FIFA confederation championships, along with the FIFA World Cup holder and the host nation.
Since 2005, the tournament has been held in the nation that will host the FIFA World Cup in the following year, acting as a dress rehearsal for the bigger and more prestigious tournament.
Brazil, host of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, will host the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup from June 15 to June 30. (PANA/NAN)
